Privacy Policy
Alexandra Bay Pty Ltd is committed to supporting the Privacy Act which sets clear standards for the collection, access, storage and use of personal information which we obtain as part of our everyday business operations.
Our respect for our customers' right to privacy of their personal information is paramount. We have policies and procedures to ensure that all personal information, no matter how or where it is obtained, is handled sensitively, securely, and in accordance with the National Privacy Principles.
What personal information do we collect and store? So that we can provide services to you, we may ask for personal details such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address. Privacy law requires us to collect personal information "about you only from you" if it is reasonable and practical to do so.
Alexandra Bay Pty Ltd takes measures to ensure your personal information is protected from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, disclosure or alteration.
Generally, you have no obligation to provide any information requested by us. If you choose to withhold requested information however, we may not be able to provide you with the goods and services that depend on the collection of that information. Some details must be provided to enable a transaction to proceed. Refusal to provide that information may result in our inability to provide the product or service you request.
In most cases, if you refuse to provide a valid address and name, we are unable to accept payment via a digital payment provider. Details are required to ensure the validity of the transaction and prevent fraudulent transactions.
How is personal information used? The personal information that we ask for is generally used to provide goods or services to you. For example, for a product purchase we need your postal address, and for a competition we need your contact details so we can contact you if you win, etc.
Will my personal information be sold or forwarded to any other company? We will never sell your contact details or personal information. We are committed to your privacy and respect your right to this. We do however send certain details to certain companies for specific purpose of providing your service. For example, we may provide your name and address to the courier to perform delivery, and your contact number or email on certain services so they can keep you in the loop regarding the status and estimated date of your order. We ensure the couriers we use will only use your information to provide the service of delivering this order and will not contact you regarding promotions etc.
We may also use your personal information in other ways to provide you with superior service. This may include using your personal information to advise you of new products and services. You have the right to tell us that you do not want us to send information to you other than for the main purpose for which we have collected your personal details. This can be done in writing via email.
Will I Receive Emails? We do send occasional emails to our customers to advise of new products, promotions etc. This database is administered by us via premium email marketing provider, iContact. No third party will have access to this email list. Each and every marketing email contains an Unsubscribe link. You are free to unsubscribe at any time using that link. Once unsubscribed it is impossible for us to add you back into the marketing list. We recommend the use of the "Do Not Contact" option as this will permanently block your email address from each and every list in our database permanently with a single click. If you place an order after unsubscribing, you will only receive emails relating to that transaction (order confirmation, payment approved and shipping confirmation for example), or emails relating specifically to that order (out-of-stock notifications, for example) or email replies to your emailed questions or comments. You will not be re-enrolled into email marketing. You have the option to be excluded from marketing communications via a note on your order or an email to us.
Access to your personal information We will provide only you with access to any of your personal information that we hold. Of course, before we provide you with access to your personal information we will require some proof of identity.
If you require access to your personal information, please contact is via email. If you wish to update your information please email us. If you wish to have your details removed from our POS system or marketing system, this can be done quickly and easily on request. Please note we are unable to delete the original order details as entered at checkout in our web ordering system or any details in the records kept by our payment providers.
